Pilates Card Deck Licensing Made Easy
Customise & brand my pilates card decks for your studio: increase student retention by 968% & satisfaction by 320%
Greetings, I’m George Watts, a Pilates/Yoga teacher, and the creator of the Pilates Card Decks. I’m also the creator of the Online Pilates Lesson Planner, a time-saving lesson planning tool used by hundreds of Pilates instructors worldwide.
Are you a Pilates studio owner or instructor looking for professional, branded Pilates Card Decks to enhance your client experience?
If so, you’ve come to right place because my entire Pilates Card Deck Collection is now available for studio licensing, allowing you to add your own branding.
Each deck takes me 120+ hours to create. They are a labour of love! I use them for my own Pilates practice, as teaching aids in my classes, and as joining gifts for new students to massively increase the odds that they practice pilates at home.
If you have a studio, or a serious full-time instructor, and like card decks, read on…
The Surprisingly Legit Math Behind My Claim: “How to Increase Student Retention by 968% By Licensing My Pilates Card Decks…And Also Increase Student Satisfaction by 320%.”
Alright, studio owners, and full-time instructors, let’s do some exciting Pilates Studio Math (really, it is).
The average student attends your studio for about 6 weeks before disappearing into the abyss of “I’ll come back soon”. How do I know that. Well, the stats don’t lie. Attendance drops significantly after the first 6-8 weeks unless strong retention strategies are in place. Though, you already know this if you’re a studio owner!
But what if, instead of just 6 weeks, they kept coming for 60 weeks? That’s a 10x increase in retention.
10 times longer = 10 x 100% = 1000% increase!
“But wait,” you say, “your claim says 968%, not 1000%! What kind of sorcery is this?”
Glad you asked. We generously subtracted a few percentage points for the inevitable one or two students who still leave you, despite your best efforts (probably because they decided yoga or art class was more their thing).
So, there you have it—968% student retention, backed by real, actual, sort-of-mathematically-sound math!
And the 320% Student Satisfaction Boost?
Ah, yes. Simple logic:
✅ Practicing Pilates at home = students improve faster.
✅ Faster improvement = they feel like superheroes.
✅ Feeling like a superhero = they tell their friends.
✅ Telling their friends = more new students.
✅ More new students + happy long-term students = a thriving, satisfaction-boosted studio.
Hence: 320% satisfaction increase to your students and you, the Studio owner! (Also, it’s a totally real statistic that I absolutely didn’t make up… probably.)
Bottom Line?
Give your students a Pilates Card Deck, keep them engaged, watch retention skyrocket, and enjoy the mathematical magic of 968% retention and 320% more satisfied students (or as we like to call it: Pilates Profitability Wizardry).

Once the agreement has been signed and payment received, you’ll get instant access to your Pilates Card Decks!
"Can I call or email George for a chat before committing to a license?"
Yes. Contact George (creator of the decks) to arrange a day/time for a chat (e.g. via Zoom or phone).
"Can I get a discount for multiple decks?"
Yes! We offer bundle discounts if you purchase multiple decks. See our Bundle Pricing section for details or contact George for custom packages.
"What is the difference between the Standard and Branded Licenses?"
Standard License: You receive a digital deck (in PDF, JPG & PNG formats) to use in your studio, but no branding or modifications are allowed. You can give them away to clients or sell them directly to clients, as long as it’s in-person and not online.
Branded License: George will customise with your studio’s logo, colours, and website. You can give them away to clients or sell them directly to clients, as long as it’s in-person and not online.
"Can I modify the exercises in the Branded License?"
No. George will customise with your studio’s logo, colours, and website.
"Can I print the decks for my studio clients?"
Yes! Both the Standard and Branded Licenses allow printing for use in your studio. The Branded License also lets you customise the design before printing.
Can I sell the decks?
Yes, but only to your clients at your studio. You don’t have resell rights, so you can’t sell the decks in your online store.
"Do I have resell rights?"
No, the standard and branded licenses do not grant resell rights for online or mass distribution. However, licensed studios can sell customised decks to their in-person clients as part of memberships, workshops, or private training. Reselling online (e.g., websites, Etsy, Amazon) is strictly prohibited.
"How long does the license last?"
Each license is valid for one year from the date of purchase. You will need to renew your license annually to continue using the decks.
"Can I sell printed and digital copies of the branded deck to clients?"
Yes, but only in-person. Studios with a Branded License can sell printed or digital copies to their own clients as part of classes, memberships, or training programs. Selling online is not allowed.
Who can be the licensee for a branded Pilates card deck?
The licensee must be the person or business that will be managing and using the deck. The licensee is the only one allowed to edit, brand, and distribute the customised deck under the licensing agreement.
If a studio purchases the license, only the studio can brand and use the deck—it cannot be transferred to an individual instructor. Similarly, if an instructor purchases the license, the studio cannot claim ownership over the branded deck.
What happens if I purchase a license and later want to change the licensee?
Licenses are non-transferable, so you would need to purchase a new license under the new owner’s name. If you’re unsure who should be the licensee, it’s best to decide before purchasing to avoid complications.
"What happens if I don’t renew my license?"
If your license expires and you don’t renew, you must stop using the deck(s) in your classes, stop distributing them, and stop selling them. However, you can renew at any time to regain access, and you can use the decks for your own personal use.
"Can I cancel my license?"
You can cancel anytime, but licenses are non-refundable. If you cancel, you will retain access until your current license period ends.
Pilates Retention Playbook: 52 Ways to Boost Retention 968% & Student Satisfaction By 320%
Welcome!
Welcome to The Pilates Retention Playbook! I promise this will be a quick, enjoyable, and financially rewarding course…and it’s 100% free.
Introduction
You’ve just landed on what might be the most important page for your Pilates studio’s long-term success (and sanity).
Let’s face it—running a Pilates studio or teaching full-time isn’t just about crafting the perfect Pilates class. It’s also about keeping those lovely clients walking back through your door week after week. But, as you probably know all too well, students drop off. Life gets in the way. The novelty wears off. And before you know it, you’re back hustling to fill empty mats.
That’s where this playbook comes in.
I’ve spent months gathered together 52 simple, practical, zero-fluff tactics that studios and instructors can use to boost student retention by 968% and client satisfaction by 320% (yes, I did the maths—and yes, the numbers are a bit ridiculous, but they’re real).
No complicated systems.
No over-the-top marketing jargon.
Just actionable ideas you can start using today.
Some tactics are classic, some are quirky, some involve clever use of my Pilates Card Decks (naturally), but all are designed with one goal: keeping your clients coming back, smiling, and raving about your studio.
So, grab a cup of tea, get comfy, and let’s dive in.
Your studio’s retention revolution starts now.
Foundation Retention Tactics: Beginner-Friendly, Quick Wins For Pilates Studio Owners & Instructors
Tactic 1: The Personalised Folder Effect
What’s the Play?
Give every new student a personalised folder with their name on the front when they join your studio.
Each week (or on the first class if you do 6 or 10 week classes), hand them a printed exercise card (from your licensed deck) to pop inside. Over time, they’ll build their own tailored Pilates folder—a collection of progress, pride, and proof they’re sticking with it.
Why It Works:
✔️ People love personalised things—it feels thoughtful and keeps your studio top of mind.
✔️ Each new card they receive creates a mini dopamine hit and a sense of progress.
✔️ It keeps students looking forward to the next class (and the next card).
✔️ Watching their folder fill week by week is a visual cue of their commitment—and a powerful motivator to keep showing up.
Bonus: It subtly positions you as the studio that cares more than the competition.
Your Move:
⬜ Get a batch of branded folders (even basic ones work—just leave space to write each student’s name).
⬜ Hand out the folder on their first day and say something like: “Every week, you’ll get one of our signature Pilates cards to keep. By the end, you’ll have your own custom collection based on everything you’ve learned!”
⬜ Print off one card for each class and give it to them at the start—then watch them proudly slot it into their folder.
⬜ Occasionally sneak in a surprise bonus card—unexpected extras = retention gold.
Tactic 2: The Take-Home Handout Trick
What’s the Play?
Each week, give students one printed card from your Pilates deck as a class handout. Hand it to them at the start of class so they can reference it during the session—then take it home as part of their personalised folder.
Why It Works:
✔️ Pre-class anticipation: Having a tangible exercise card in front of them makes them more engaged from the start.
✔️ Home practice encouragement: Students are way more likely to practice at home if they have a structured reference.
✔️ A growing collection = a growing commitment! The more cards they collect, the less likely they are to quit.
Your Move:
⬜ Print off enough copies of one deck card for the whole class.
⬜ Hand it to students at the beginning of class and mention: “This is today’s key movement—by the end of class, you’ll have mastered it!”
⬜ Encourage students to store it in their folder as part of their Pilates journey.
⬜ Every few weeks, check in: “Which exercises have been your favourite so far?” (Reinforces the habit of using their decks.)
Tactic 3: The “Exercise of the Week” Display
What’s the Play?
Choose one card from your Pilates deck and display it somewhere visible in the studio—on a noticeboard, the reception desk, or even inside the studio.
Bonus: Give a small reward (like an extra card) to students who incorporate it into their home practice.
Why It Works:
✔️ Creates curiosity—students will check the board every week to see what’s featured.
✔️ Encourages self-practice—having a structured movement focus outside of class builds commitment.
✔️ Strengthens retention—subtly reinforces the idea that this studio helps you progress over time.
Your Move:
⬜ Pick one card per week and place it somewhere noticeable in the studio.
⬜ Add a simple sign: “This Week’s Featured Move—Try It At Home!”
⬜ Tell students: “If you practice this move at home and show me in the next class, you’ll get a bonus card!”
⬜ Track participation—if certain students love the challenge, consider giving them a full deck.
Tactic 4: The “Bring a Friend” Gift
What’s the Play?
When a client brings a friend to a class, reward them both with a mini Pilates deck (a set of 5–10 key exercises). New clients get a useful resource, and existing clients get an extra reason to invite more people.
Why It Works:
✔️ Referrals skyrocket—students love incentives, especially something useful and exclusive.
✔️ Builds social connections—people are more likely to stick to a routine when they have an accountability buddy.
✔️ Mini decks = retention hook—Newcomers now have a physical reminder of your studio!
Your Move:
⬜ Create mini-decks (print 5-10 key cards as a “Guest Pack”).
⬜ Advertise it: “Bring a friend, and you both get a mini Pilates deck!”
⬜ Personally hand the deck to new clients, saying: “Welcome! This set will help you get started. Looking forward to seeing you next time!“
⬜ Track which clients are bringing the most referrals—they might deserve an extra reward!
Tactic 5: The Instructor Cheat Sheet Hack
What’s the Play?
Print and laminate the cards from your Pilates deck as quick-reference guides for instructors. This keeps teaching consistent across all classes, whether it’s a new instructor or a long-time team member.
Why It Works:
✔️ Standardizes instruction—clients get a seamless experience no matter who’s teaching.
✔️ Saves instructors time—less stress remembering sequences, more focus on engaging with students.
✔️ Boosts professionalism—makes your studio feel organized and polished to clients.
Your Move:
⬜ Select core exercises and print them as a laminated reference set for instructors.
⬜ Store them in a designated instructor area (near the studio entrance, inside a folder, etc.).
⬜ Brief instructors: “Feel free to glance at these before class if you need quick refreshers (or give them a laminated set they can take home)!”
⬜ Check in with your team: “Are there any other Pilates card decks that you’d like?”
Tactic 6: The “Pre-Class Warm-Up” Strategy
What’s the Play?
Place a few exercise cards from your deck in a designated “warm-up zone” before class starts. Clients who arrive early can pick a card and perform the exercise while they wait—no more awkward small talk or aimless stretching.
Why It Works:
✔️ Eliminates “waiting around” syndrome—students start moving as soon as they arrive.
✔️ Warms up key muscles before class begins, reducing injury risk.
✔️ Reinforces familiarity with the deck, making them more likely to want their own.
✔️ Creates a “this studio is well-organised” vibe, which boosts client confidence.
Your Move:
⬜ Set up a pre-class warm-up station with a small sign: “Pick a Card, Get Moving!”
⬜ Rotate the selection of cards weekly to keep it fresh.
⬜ Give new students a quick nudge: “If you’re early, grab a card and give it a go!”
⬜ Occasionally feature a “Warm-Up Card of the Month” to build engagement.
Tactic 7: The “Surprise & Delight” Bonus Card
What’s the Play?
At random intervals, gift a bonus exercise card to a student who’s been consistently showing up, making progress, or simply bringing great energy to class. No explanation needed—just a simple “This one’s for you!”
Why It Works:
✔️ Unexpected rewards create a sense of excitement & exclusivity.
✔️ Encourages consistency, as students wonder if they’ll be next.
✔️ Gives you an easy way to acknowledge effort without disrupting class.
Your Move:
⬜ Print a few extra cards and keep them on hand.
⬜ Once or twice a month, hand a card to a deserving client and say:
“This one’s just for you—keep up the great work!”
⬜ Watch their motivation spike (and their classmates wonder how to earn one too).
Tactic 8: The “Instructor’s Back-Pocket” Strategy
What’s the Play?
Instructors keep a small selection of Pilates deck cards nearby during class. When a student is struggling with an exercise, the instructor hands them a relevant card for easy visual reference.
Why It Works:
✔️ Provides instant, stress-free modifications for struggling clients.
✔️ Minimises verbal overwhelm, as some clients learn better with visuals.
✔️ Encourages students to see the deck as a tool they can use outside class too.
Your Move:
⬜ Pick 5-10 cards and keep them easily accessible during class.
⬜ When a client struggles, say:
“Try this variation—it’s right here on the card if you need a reminder.”
⬜ Observe how students respond—some may love the deck so much, they’ll want their own!
Tactic 9: The “Wall of Wins” Retention Trick
What’s the Play?
Designate a small section of your studio wall to celebrate student progress. When a client masters a new exercise from the deck, they add their name next to it on the wall.
Why It Works:
✔️ Creates social proof—new clients see others progressing and feel motivated.
✔️ Turns progress into a visual achievement, increasing long-term commitment.
✔️ Encourages clients to aim for the next milestone, making retention effortless.
Your Move:
⬜ Set up a “Wall of Wins” board with exercise names & space for client names.
⬜ When a client masters an exercise, invite them to sign the board.
⬜ Make it a casual, fun moment—no pressure, just encouragement!
⬜ Occasionally snap a pic of the board and share it in client newsletters (without full names, of course!).
Tactic 10: The “3-Minute Challenge” Card
What’s the Play?
At the end of class, challenge students to complete one extra exercise from the deck in just 3 minutes. If they do, they earn a “challenge card” for their personalised folder.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages students to push themselves in a fun, low-pressure way.
✔️ Builds excitement & engagement at the very end of class.
✔️ Gives them an extra reason to collect & treasure their deck cards.
Your Move:
⬜ Announce the 3-minute challenge at the end of class.
⬜ Hold up a random card from the deck and say: “Complete this now, and you get to keep it!”
⬜ Watch as students happily take on the challenge, knowing they’re earning something special.
⬜ Rotate different exercises each week to keep it fresh.
Tactic 11: The “Pick a Card, Any Card” Game
What’s the Play?
Before class starts, let students randomly pick a card from the deck. At the end of class, they try the exercise as a bonus move—either as a challenge or a cool-down.
Why It Works:
✔️ Gamifies the class experience—clients feel more involved.
✔️ Adds variety—keeps sessions fresh and unexpected.
✔️ Gives clients exposure to more deck exercises, increasing their curiosity.
Your Move:
⬜ Set a small basket with deck cards near the studio entrance.
⬜ As students arrive, say: “Fancy a challenge? Pick a card—you’ll do this move at the end of class!”
⬜ Watch as students get excited and look forward to their surprise exercise.
⬜ Encourage those who enjoy the exercise to take the card home for practice.
Tactic 12: The “Pilates Passport” Loyalty Programme
What’s the Play?
Give clients a card from the card deck where they collect a stamp (or sticker) every time they complete a card-based challenge in class. After a set number of stamps, they earn a prize—like a free pilates class.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages class consistency—people love completing a challenge.
✔️ Makes retention feel like a fun achievement, not just another class.
Your Move:
⬜ Create a simple Pilates Passport Loyalty Card on canva.com (or laminate a card from a deck) and hand one to each client.
⬜ Set a rule: “Earn one stamp each time you complete an extra deck challenge in class.”
⬜ When they hit a milestone (e.g., 10 stamps), give them a free class.
⬜ Celebrate when clients fill their passport—post their name on a board, or give them a small extra perk.
Tactic 13: The “Golden Card” Incentive
What’s the Play?
Designate one card as a special “Golden Card”. Once a month, hide it in the deck—the first student to pick it wins a prize (e.g. free class, free deck).
Why It Works:
✔️ Creates excitement & a “treasure hunt” effect.
✔️ Encourages attendance—clients don’t want to miss their chance!
✔️ Adds an element of playfulness, making classes more memorable.
Your Move:
⬜ Print a card—and designate is as the “Golden Card” (you could sign your initials in gold (using a gold gel pen).
⬜ Shuffle it into the deck at the start of class.
⬜ Announce: “One of you will find today’s Golden Card—if it’s you, you win a prize!”
⬜ When a student finds it, make a fun moment of it, then reward them.
⬜ Keep the prize varied so students stay engaged (sometimes a free class, a deck card, a £5 studio voucher, a private 15-minute technique tune-up, a guest pass for a friend, a discount on their next class pack, etc).
Tactic 14: The “Pilates Deck Draft” Game
What’s the Play?
Let students draft their own sequence using deck cards—then teach it back to the class (with your guidance). This builds confidence, engagement, and retention—plus, it gets students actively involved in their learning.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages deeper learning—they don’t just follow movements, they understand them.
✔️ Fosters a fun, interactive environment (engaged clients = retained clients).
✔️ Gives students ownership over their practice, making them more committed.
Your Move:
⬜ Once a month, let students choose 3-5 cards from the deck.
⬜ Have them arrange the exercises in a sequence.
⬜ Guide them through a mini “student-led” session using their choices.
⬜ Rotate different students each time—so everyone gets a chance.
⬜ Offer a special “To Instructor” card for anyone who steps up!
Tactic 15: The “Secret Deck Deal” Upsell Strategy
What’s the Play?
Once a month, offer a surprise discount on one of your decks—but only for those in class that day. Announce it casually at the end: “For anyone here today, the deck is available at [discounted price] until midnight!”
Why It Works:
✔️ Creates a sense of exclusivity—only those who showed up get the deal.
✔️ Encourages immediate action—a time-limited offer increases urgency.
✔️ Turns clients into customers—people love a “secret” offer just for them.
Your Move:
⬜ Choose one day per month for your “Secret Deck Deal.”
⬜ Announce at the end of class:
“For today only, the deck is available for [discounted price]—but only until midnight!”
⬜ Give clients a simple way to purchase (QR code, direct link, or cash at the desk).
⬜ Keep the deal secret—no online ads, just word-of-mouth for those in class.
⬜ Track which clients take the offer—they might be keen on future purchases too!
Tactic 16: The “Pilates Playlist” Engagement Trick
What’s the Play?
Let clients vote on a class playlist by picking a track from a special “Music Edition” deck (a few selected song cards). The chosen track gets played during class, creating a fun, interactive experience.
Why It Works:
✔️ Gives clients a sense of control & ownership, increasing engagement.
✔️ Makes classes feel more personalised, keeping things fresh.
✔️ Creates a small, enjoyable ritual that clients look forward to each week.
Your Move:
⬜ Write tracks on index cards.
⬜ At the start of class, let one client pick a card—that song gets added to today’s playlist.
⬜ Mention it casually: “This week’s track was chosen by [client name]—great pick!”
⬜ Rotate clients each class so everyone gets a turn.
Tactic 17: The “Stretch & Share” Client Storyboard
What’s the Play?
At the end of class, while clients are stretching, ask a lighthearted question and have them write their answers on a special client storyboard (a whiteboard, a pinboard, or a social media feature). Example: “What’s your favourite Pilates card so far?”
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages social interaction, making classes feel more like a community.
✔️ Provides valuable insights into what clients love about your classes.
✔️ Subtly reinforces client commitment—when they write down a favourite exercise, they’re more likely to remember & repeat it.
Your Move:
⬜ Set up a small whiteboard or pinboard titled “Pilates Thoughts of the Week”.
⬜ Ask a simple, engaging question before the final stretch (e.g., “What’s your top tip for new students, What’s your favourite card?”).
⬜ Let clients write their answers while they cool down.
⬜ Share some of the best responses in your newsletter and social media!
Bonus Moves:
⬜ Instagram Stories “Question of the Week” – Take a photo of the whiteboard/pinboard where clients wrote their answers and share it in your Instagram Stories. Add a question sticker so followers can answer too!
⬜ Facebook Group Discussion – If you have a private Facebook group for your studio, post the question there and encourage members to respond (great for engaging both in-person and online clients).
⬜ Studio Instagram Post “Client Thoughts” – Once a month, highlight the best responses in an Instagram carousel post. Example: “Our clients’ top tips for Pilates beginners this month—do you agree?”
⬜ Email Newsletter “Client Spotlight” Section – Include a section in your studio’s email newsletter showcasing a few funny, insightful, or inspiring answers from the question board.
⬜ TikTok/Instagram Reel “Quick Fire Answers” – Film a 10-second clip showing different clients holding up their written response or reading it out. (Great for adding personality & fun to your content!)
Tactic 18: The “Reverse Teacher” Game
What’s the Play?
Once a month, let students “teach” a move from the deck to the class (under your guidance, of course!). They get to step into the instructor’s shoes and explain the move to others—reinforcing their learning and making them feel more involved.
Why It Works:
✔️ Deepens understanding—explaining an exercise helps clients learn faster.
✔️ Encourages confidence & participation—clients feel more engaged.
✔️ Creates a fun, interactive element that makes classes more memorable.
Your Move:
⬜ Once a month, let one client pick a deck card at random.
⬜ Ask: “Can you show us how you’d explain this move to a beginner?” (Guide them if needed!)
⬜ Give a small reward to those who participate (studio perk, etc.).
⬜ Keep it low-pressure & fun—it’s all about participation, not perfection!
Tactic 19: The “Senior Student Instructor” Surprise

Why It Works:
✔️ Adds variety & excitement—clients enjoy new teaching styles.
✔️ Strengthens studio community—senior students feel valued, and instructors get to showcase expertise.

⬜ Arrange an experienced student to help demonstrate.
⬜ Let them pick a few deck cards and lead a short segment of class.
⬜ Announce it beforehand: “Next class, we have a special guest leading a surprise deck challenge!”
⬜ At the end, encourage clients to share feedback—this keeps them engaged.

Tactic 20: The “Deck Collector” VIP Challenge
What’s the Play?
Turn your deck into a collector’s item by creating a VIP Challenge—clients earn specific cards by attending classes, hitting milestones, or participating in special events.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages class consistency—clients want to complete their collection.
✔️ Adds exclusivity & value to the deck—clients see it as something special.
✔️ Creates a long-term engagement loop, keeping clients motivated for months.
Your Move:
⬜ Decide which cards are “VIP-only” (e.g., golden-edition cards, or those only given after 10+ classes).
⬜ Announce the challenge: “Complete 15 classes and you’ll unlock the exclusive Collector’s Card!”
⬜ Keep a progress tracker (digital and/or on a studio board) so clients can see their journey.
⬜ Once they complete their collection, celebrate with a certificate, a social media shout-out, or a bonus class!
Tactic 21: The “Pilates Bingo” Challenge
What’s the Play?
Create a Bingo-style card using exercises from your Pilates deck. Clients mark off exercises as they complete them in class—anyone who gets a full row or column wins a prize! If you’re a licensee, you’ll get an canva.com editable Pilates Bingo card for each card deck. The bingo cards are the same size as the pilates cards, so your clients can add them to their pilates cards collection.
Why It Works:
✔️ Makes attendance more fun—clients feel like they’re part of a bigger game.
✔️ Encourages consistency—they’ll want to come regularly to tick off more moves.
✔️ Adds a competitive yet friendly studio challenge.
Your Move:
⬜ Print Pilates Bingo cards featuring exercises from your deck.
⬜ At the start of the challenge, give each student a bingo card and explain the rules.
⬜ After each class, stamp or tick off the exercises completed.
⬜ Offer a reward for completing a row (free class, a branded deck card, etc.).
⬜ Consider a studio-wide Bingo board where everyone can see progress!
Bonus Moves:
Here are a few ways to use the Bingo cards:
⬜ Classic Bingo – Students mark off exercises they complete in class. First to get a row/column wins!
⬜ Weekly Challenge Bingo – Each student gets a Bingo card and must complete the moves over 4 weeks.
⬜ Client Vs. Instructor Bingo – The instructor picks moves at random; students compete to fill their Bingo sheet first.
⬜ Themed Bingo – Use a different Pilates deck (e.g., Foam Roller, Reformer, Matwork) each month.
The Free Space:
The middle square in a Bingo card is traditionally a FREE SPACE, meaning everyone automatically gets it “marked off” from the start.
Why Does Bingo Have a Free Space?
✔️ Speeds up the game – It gives players a head start, making it easier to complete a row, column, or diagonal.
✔️ Balances difficulty – Since numbers (or in your case, Pilates exercises) are chosen randomly, the free space helps ensure someone can actually win within a reasonable time.
✔️ Adds strategy – Players sometimes build their gameplay around this free space.
4 Ways To Make The Free Space More Engaging:
Since this is a Pilates-themed Bingo game, the middle square doesn’t need to be a traditional “free space.” Instead, you could make it more engaging:
✔️ Instructor’s Choice – The instructor picks an extra exercise for students.
✔️ Bonus Stretch – The student must complete a stretch of their choice.
✔️ Wild Card – The student picks any exercise from the deck to complete.
✔️ Team Move – The whole class does this move together.
“Power Up” – The student picks a movement to hold for 30 seconds.
Tactic 22: The “Double Trouble” Partner Class
What’s the Play?
Run a partner-based Pilates class where students work in pairs to guide each other using the deck cards. One partner selects a card, the other performs it, then they switch.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages social interaction, making classes feel more like a community.
✔️ Boosts retention—clients with studio friends are more likely to stick around.
✔️ Deepens learning—explaining an exercise to someone else reinforces understanding.
Your Move:
⬜ Pair up students at the start of class (or let them pick their partner).
⬜ Each pair takes turns picking a card & guiding their partner through the movement.
⬜ Instructors walk around, correcting form & adding encouragement.
⬜ At the end, ask: “Which movement did your partner teach really well?”—this builds positive reinforcement!

Tactic 23: The “Deck Streak” Home Practice Leaderboard
What’s the Play?
Encourage students to use their Pilates deck at home by tracking who completes the most home workouts each month. Clients log their deck-based sessions (via a studio home practice tracker form, email check-in, or social media), and the top three “streak holders” get a special reward.
Why It Works:
✔️ Boosts student retention—clients who practice at home stay more engaged.
✔️ Encourages accountability—knowing their efforts are being tracked helps build a habit.
✔️ Strengthens their connection to your studio—even when they’re not in class.
Your Move:
⬜ Create a simple tracking system—this could be:
✔️ A social media post where clients comment when they’ve completed a session and included an image of themselves doing the exercise with the card within view.
✔️ A wall chart in the studio where students log their home sessions.
✔️ A Google Form or email check-in for students to report workouts.
⬜ Encourage students to complete at least one deck-based session per week at home.
⬜ At the end of the month, announce the top 3 “Deck Streak” champions in class, on social media, or in your studio newsletter.
⬜ Offer a fun prize—first dibs on a popular class, a bonus stretch session, a free guest pass, a priority booking for a workshop, a discount on their next class pack, a personalised mini-deck with their favourite exercises, a VIP shout-out on the studio leaderboard, or a 10-minute post-class technique tune-up.
⬜ Occasionally add special challenges, e.g. “Bonus points if you complete a session using three different categories from the deck!”
Tactic 24: The “Flash Card” Circuit Session
What’s the Play?
Run a circuit-style class using deck cards at each station. Clients rotate through each station, performing the move on the card. You can mix Matwork, Reformer, and Foam Roller exercises to keep it varied and exciting.
Why It Works:
✔️ Keeps classes fresh—great for breaking up routine workouts.
✔️ Encourages independent movement—clients engage with the exercises in a different way.
✔️ Boosts familiarity with the deck, making students want their own copy!
Your Move:
⬜ Set up 4-6 stations around the studio, placing a deck card at each one.
⬜ Divide the class into small groups, with each group starting at a different station.
⬜ Every 3-5 minutes, call “rotate!” and have groups move to the next station.
⬜ Add a bonus challenge—students who complete all stations earn a “mystery exercise” from the deck!
Tactic 25: The “Pilates Pen Pal” Challenge
What’s the Play?
Pair up clients as Pilates accountability buddies—each week, they check in with their partner to see if they’ve practised an exercise from the deck at home. If both complete their practice, they each earn a small reward at the end of the month.
Why It Works:
✔️ Increases home practice—clients are more likely to follow through when someone else is counting on them.
✔️ Builds community—clients feel more connected when they have a workout buddy.
✔️ Boosts retention—when people form friendships at your studio, they stay longer!
Your Move:
⬜ Pair up clients at the start of the month and introduce the challenge.
⬜ Each week, partners check in with each other: “Did you do your deck practice this week?”
⬜ If both complete their practice, they mark it down on a studio board or tracking sheet.
⬜ At the end of the month, reward successful pairs with a small prize (guest pass, priority class booking, class discount, etc).
⬜ Mix up partners every month to keep things fresh and encourage new connections!
Intermediate Retention Tactics: A Bit More Planning, But Major Payoff In Retention & Client Satisfaction
Tactic 26: The “Client Spotlight” Studio Feature
What’s the Play?
Feature a “Client of the Month” in your studio, social media, or newsletter—highlighting their journey, favourite exercise from the deck, and a fun fact about them.
Why It Works:
✔️ Builds a stronger studio community—clients love seeing familiar faces celebrated.
✔️ Encourages loyalty—people appreciate being recognised.
✔️ Inspires others—clients see what’s possible with consistent practice.
Your Move:
⬜ Choose one client per month who has been showing great progress or dedication.
⬜ Ask them a few fun questions (e.g., “What’s your favourite move from the deck?” “What’s your Pilates superpower?”).
⬜ Feature them on your studio board, website, or social media with a quick write-up.
⬜ Reward them with a bonus class or special perk for being featured.
⬜ Encourage other clients to nominate future spotlights (this boosts engagement!).

✔️ “If you could create a brand-new Pilates move, what would it be called (e.g., The Wobble Warrior, The Sizzling Spine Stretch, The Quivering Teaser, The Coffee Grinder Twist, The Flamingo Hold, The Pretzel Plank, The Jellyfish Roll-Up, The T-Rex Toe Tap, The Slo-Mo Swan, The Ninja Noodle)”.
✔️ “What advice would you give to someone new to Pilates?”
✔️ “What’s your favourite thing about coming to class each week?”
✔️ “What’s your go-to excuse when you don’t feel like working out?”
✔️ If Pilates had an Olympic event, what category would you compete in?
✔️ “What’s one thing you’ve learned in Pilates that surprised you?”
✔️ “What song gets you pumped up for class?”
✔️ “If your Pilates instructor had a catchphrase, what would it be?”
Tactic 27: The “Secret Stash” Challenge
What’s the Play?
Hide a few deck cards around the studio each month—clients who find one get a fun challenge (or a small reward).
Why It Works:
✔️ Turns retention into a game—clients actively look forward to coming.
✔️ Encourages interaction—they’ll chat with others about finding a card.
✔️ Adds an exclusive VIP element—finding a card feels like a special achievement.
Your Move:
⬜ Each month, hide 3 deck cards somewhere in the studio.
⬜ Let clients know: “There are hidden challenge cards around the studio—if you find one, bring it to me for a fun surprise!”
⬜ Clients who find a card must complete the exercise on it before class starts.
⬜ Offer a small reward to those who find & complete their challenge.
⬜ Mix up hiding spots monthly to keep things exciting!
Tactic 28: The “Workshop Warm-Up” Deck Drill
What’s the Play?
Before any workshop, retreat, or special event, give clients a deck-based warm-up challenge—they must complete 3 exercises from the deck before the workshop begins.
Why It Works:
✔️ Creates excitement & anticipation before the event starts.
✔️ Warms up clients physically & mentally, making them more engaged.
✔️ Promotes the deck—clients who enjoy using it might want to buy their own!
Your Move:
⬜ Before any workshop or special event, set up a Deck Warm-Up Zone.
⬜ Display 3 deck cards and challenge attendees to complete the exercises before the event starts.
⬜ If a client completes all 3, they get a small bonus (e.g., a free card, a card deck discount, a discount on their next class pack).
Tactic 29: The “Pilates Progress Ladder” Challenge
What’s the Play?
Turn your Pilates deck into a progression-based challenge by grouping exercises into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Clients work through the levels, unlocking new exercises as they progress.
Why It Works:
✔️ Encourages long-term commitment—clients stay engaged as they work through the ladder.
✔️ Gamifies learning—clients feel motivated to “unlock” the next level.
“
✔️ Increases deck usage—students get excited about progressing through different exercises.
Your Move:
⬜ Create a Pilates Progress Ladder listing exercises in three levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).
⬜ Give students a tracker sheet to mark off exercises they’ve mastered.
⬜ When they complete all exercises in one level, they “unlock” the next level (and maybe even a small reward).
⬜ Occasionally run a special challenge: “Climb the Progress Ladder with a partner?”
⬜ Announce students who’ve made good “progress” in class or your studio newsletter to build momentum.

Tactic 30: The “Pilates Fortune Teller” Game
What’s the Play?
Before class, shuffle the deck and let a student pick a random card—that move becomes a surprise warm-up or finisher for the whole class.
Why It Works:
✔️ Adds an element of mystery & fun—clients love a good surprise.
✔️ Encourages deck interaction—students start looking forward to drawing a card.
✔️ Breaks routine—keeps classes fresh and engaging.
Your Move:
⬜ At the start of class, announce: “Time for the Pilates Fortune Teller—who wants to pick our surprise move today?”

⬜ Whatever move they pick becomes the class warm-up or final exercise.
⬜ If the class groans at a tough pick, say with a smile: “Too late—fate has spoken!”
⬜ Ask the student if they like the exercise. If they do, say: “We will double the reps!”
Tactic 31: The “5-Minute Flash Round” Deck Drill

⬜ Occasionally offer a prize for anyone who completes all exercises before time runs out.
Tactic 32: The “Deck Roulette” Private Session Perk
What’s the Play?
For private sessions, let clients randomly pick 3 cards from the deck at the start—those must be weaved into their personalised workout.
Why It Works:
✔️ Gives private clients a sense of ownership over their session.
✔️ Encourages variety, keeping workouts fresh and unpredictable.
✔️ Adds a fun, personalised element—they’ll be curious to see what they pick!
Your Move:
⬜ At the start of a private session, shuffle the deck and let the client pick 3 random cards.
⬜ Those moves must be included in today’s session, no matter what!
⬜ Let them swap out ONE card if they really dislike an exercise.
⬜ Make it interactive: “Why do you think you picked that one? Fate or luck?” Then add a twist—if they seem hesitant about a move, say “Would you like to swap one card… but only if you agree to double the reps on another?” You could also let them trade one card with the instructor, but only if they explain why they’re swapping it—this encourages them to think about their strengths and weaknesses.
⬜ Occasionally offer a bonus if they complete all three.
