Pilates Lesson Planner for Instructor Trainees

For Pilates instructor trainees

Learn to plan a class—not just complete an assignment.

Study clear examples, see how sequences fit together and build plans of your own. Less staring at an empty page. More understanding what belongs in the class—and why.

The assignment ends. The planning continues.
3 versionsof each plan
3,000+exercises
10,000+plan examples

From blank page to clear decisions

See the structure. Practise the choices. Make the plan yours.

Understand sequencing

See how preparation, challenge, transitions and an appropriate finish work together as a complete class.

Practise adapting

Copy an example and reshape it for a different level, goal or group instead of treating one sequence as sacred scripture.

Build independence

Move from studying finished plans to explaining your own exercise choices with increasing confidence.

A useful way to learn

Study it. Shape it. Teach it.

1

Study it

Open a completed plan and examine its exercise order, teaching steps, benefits and adaptations.

2

Shape it

Copy the plan, change the sequence, add your own cues and explain the decisions you made.

3

Teach it

Use the concise version in practice, then return to the detail when you need to review or improve it.

One plan. Three ways to learn from it.

Short, Long and Stream

Use the detail while learning. Keep the concise plan for teaching.

Long Plan helps you study teaching steps, benefits, modifications and precautions. Short Plan gives you the compact sequence when you are teaching. Stream Plan lets you follow the class in guided practice.

  • Study the reason behind each exercise
  • Review modifications and precautions
  • See the whole sequence at a glance
  • Practise with a guided plan
  • Print or download the version you need

Examples are starting points

Borrow the structure. Develop your own judgement.

Copy a shared plan, then reorder exercises, edit the teaching information and add your own cues, notes or movements.

A useful example should help you think. It should not produce a room full of newly qualified instructors all teaching Tuesday’s class in exactly the same tone of voice.

An important distinction

A planning resource—not your training course.

The Planner can give you examples, structure and editable teaching information. It cannot watch you teach, assess your practical competence or replace feedback from your instructor trainer.

Your trainer remains in charge of the raised eyebrow, the useful question and the sentence beginning, “Let’s look at that transition again.”

Useful questions for trainees

Before your next planning assignment arrives.

Yes. Each trainee needs their own Yearly or Lifetime membership to create, copy or edit plans inside the Planner. You do not need membership to view a plan URL sent to you or open a shared PDF.

Can I try a plan before joining?

Yes. Visit the Free Pilates Lesson Plans page to inspect public Short, Long and Stream examples without an account.

Can I build a plan from scratch?

Yes. You can select exercises from the library, arrange them into a sequence, edit the teaching information and add your own movements.

Can I copy and change a shared plan?

Yes. With your own membership, you can copy a shared plan into your account and edit it without changing the original.

Does the Planner qualify me to teach Pilates?

No. It is a lesson-planning and study resource. Your qualification, practical tuition, observation and assessment remain with your training provider.
